HANNAH CAYEM
Hannah Cayem, soprano, is acclaimed by ArtSong Update for her “impressive vocal talent, acting ability and a winning openness in communicating.” Her recent credits include Laeticia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). In 2025 and 2026, Ms. Cayem was a National Semifinalist in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition. She has appeared as a soloist in oratorio performances including Bach’s Gloria and Vivaldi’s Magnificat. Cayem attributes a vast amount of her artistic development to her training with the Wesley Balk Opera-Music Theater Institute, Respiro Opera, NYC, and Opera Theatre of the Rockies.
Ms. Cayem obtained undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance from the Ithaca College School of Music, where she studied with Dr. Ivy Walz. She also studied privately with Cynthia Vaughn. In May 2026, Ms. Cayem completed her Masters in Vocal Performance at the George Mason University Dewberry School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Patricia Miller. She was awarded both the Graduate Academic Excellence Award and Graduate Performance Excellence Award.
A passionate teacher, Hannah is a certified K-12 music educator. She maintains a thriving private voice studio. Ms. Cayem’s students have earned state and regional competition honors, performed leading roles in musicals, and remain actively engaged as performers in their communities. In 2025, she founded the Summer Voice Intensive at the Academy of Music and she looks forward to another fantastic week of singing, learning and growing during SVI 2026!
ANNA FEUCHT
Anna Feucht has been praised for her “bright-yet-sensual voice” (Bach Track) and “exceptionally beautiful and powerful sound” (Art Song Update). Roles performed include Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Romilda in Serse, Silberklang and Mme Herz in Der Schauspieldirektor, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte.She has often appeared as a soloist with orchestra; most recently as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with Ocala Symphony Orchestra and Christopher Newport University. Previous engagements as soprano soloist include Poulenc’s Gloria with the Virginia Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem with Symphonicity, and Kim Andre Arnesen’s Magnificat and Brahms’ Requiem with Virginia Choral Society. Anna has also made repeated appearances with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, Symphonicity, Christopher Newport University, and many other organizations as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah.
Anna obtained her Master of Music degree from the University of Florida and her Bachelor of Music from Christopher Newport University. She resides in Norfolk, Virginia with her husband and their two dogs, Rory and McIlroy.
JOHN HANEY
John-Joseph Haney, a Chesapeake, Virginia native, is a recent graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Music, where he earned both his Master’s degree in Voice and a Post-Master’s Graduate Diploma. He completed his undergraduate studies at Mannes College of Music in New York City and is also a graduate of The Governor’s School for the Arts. From 2022–2024, Mr. Haney was a Shari Bierman Young Artist Fellow with The Cleveland Orchestra, making his debut as Postiglione in La Fanciulla del West under the baton of Maestro Franz Welser-Möst. For the 2025–2026 season, he joins St. Petersburg Opera and Apollo’s Fire Orchestra as a young artist.
He has performed with numerous opera companies nationally and internationally, including St. Petersburg Opera, Virginia Opera, The Cleveland Orchestra, Opera Steamboat, Opera on the Avalon, Apollo’s Fire, Teatro Nuovo, Mannes Opera, and Cleveland Institute of Music Opera.
His past roles include Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Don Basilio and Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro), Paolino (Il matrimonio segreto), Henrik (A Little Night Music), Anthony (Sweeney Todd), Little Bat (Susannah), Commissioner (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Le Doyen (Cendrillon), Physician/Usher (The Fall of the House of Usher), Soldier #1 (All Is Calm), and tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.
In the past season, Haney premiered two new works—Welcome to Madness and Pay No Heed—and recently made his European role debut as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre in Prague with The Czech National Opera.
