Sarah Ford

Suzuki Violin, and Prezuki (early childhood music).  M.M. (Music Education with Concentration in Music Therapy), University of Georgia; B.M. (Music Education), Ohio Wesleyan University.  Through AOM she also has taught Adult Beginner Violin, Creative Music Class (preschool), Musicianship (elementary), and Suzuki and Preschool Summer Camps. Mrs. Ford started and teaches for The Academy’s Suzuki Strings Program. She has completed Suzuki Violin training courses Every Child Can!, Books 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 1-4 Overview and Suzuki Principles in Action with Martha Shackford, Ronda Cole, Susan Kempter, and Carol Tarr.  Mrs. Ford retired as the music teacher at Loch Meadow Kindergarten after 32 years, and has taught in other area preschools. She is a member of Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA), Secretary of STAHR (Suzuki Teachers’ Association of Hampton Roads), and Past President of the Board of Directors of Bay Youth Orchestras of Virginia.  Mrs. Ford sings in the Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Choir (Norfolk).
