Megan Van Gomple

Mrs. Megan Van Gomple is a violinist and violist who specializes in teaching the Suzuki Method for the Academy of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. She is trained in the Suzuki Method through Book 10 under Teri Einfeldt and Linda Fiore and completed her SPA training with Carol Tarr. As a violinist, she has studied with Anton Miller (Juilliard School) at the Hartt School of Music as well as with June DeForest (Chicago Lyric Opera). Mrs. Van Gomple presently maintains a large private violin and viola studio  in Norfolk and provides coaching for the Bay Youth Orchestras of Virginia. In the past, she maintained Suzuki studios at the University of Connecticut and the Suzuki Music School of Westport (CT) and was a strings director and general music teacher in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.

As a performer, she currently serves as the Concertmaster for Symphonicity, the Symphony Orchestra of Virginia Beach and plays with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. She also serves as the Vice-President for the Suzuki Teacher’s Association of Hampton Roads (STAHR), coordinating the annual Bach Festival and organizing the annual violin and cello workshop.
