Mrs. Pougher began her teaching career in 1976 by opening a piano studio in Dallas, TX. Her teaching in the Tidewater area includes 8 years with the Academy of Music and over 21 years with Norfolk Academy. She also spent numerous years working in arts administration with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (TX), the Columbus Symphony and Opera (OH), and the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Art and Culture for the City of Baltimore (MD). Additionally, for the last 14 years she has served as pianist for the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Virginia Beach. Her teachers include Walter Hautzig, Alfred Mouledous, John Edward Price, and Louise Bianchi.
