Emily Charleton


Emily Charleton has her Master of Music from West Texas A & M University and her Bachelor of Music from Texas Tech University both in vocal performance. Following her Masters program she studied musical theatre at NYU’s Steinhardt School.  She spent 8 years in the U.S. Navy as a solo vocalist. While in the US Navy she got to sing with a concert band, croon with a big band and even front a rock band. She recently moved from Newport, Rhode Island where she was a featured soloist at Newport Playhouse and Cabaret.  Favorite roles include Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act (Diamond Head Theatre, Hawai’i), Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Amarillo Little Theatre, Texas), and Emma Goldman in Ragtime (NYU). She won an award for her portrayal of Mrs. Lovett (Best Actress in a Musical). She moved to Norfolk, Virginia in the summer of 2019.
