Suzuki Violin and Cello; Park View Elementary School Strings Program Director; Blair Middle School Harp Club Instructor. M.Ed. (Early Childhood) Old Dominion University; B.M.E., Northwestern University. Ms. Morton has been a member of the Virginia Symphony (violin) for 30 years. President of STAHR (Suzuki Teachers’ Association of Hampton Roads), Bay Youth Orchestras of Virginia Jr. and String Orchestras conductor as well as guest conductor for area All-City orchestra programs. Mrs. Morton has studied the Suzuki Method with renowned masters of the method such as John Kendall, William Starr, Craig Timmerman, Alice Joy Lewis, as well as Dr. Suzuki himself, from attending several Suzuki World Conferences in Japan. She enjoys taking Suzuki/youth orchestra groups on tour overseas having been to Europe, British Iles as well as Asia and South America. In 2012 she received the Minnette Cooper Arts Educator ALLI Award from the Cultural Alliance of Hampton Roads. Mrs. Morton is curently a member of the violin section of Symphonicity and violin teacher at the Park Place School in Norfolk.
