Addie Funderburg


Violist Addie Funderburg received a Doctorate of Musical Arts with a cognate in music education in 2023 from the University of Memphis. She studied under Lenny Schranze. She finished her college degree in 2017 at Butler University where she was a pupil of Richard Auldon Clark. In April 2016, Addie received the Jackson Wiley Award for outstanding member of the Butler Symphony Orchestra and has played with orchestras in the Indianapolis and Memphis area. Before graduate school, she worked for two years teaching and building a studio in Indianapolis, Indiana. Addie has a passion for teaching and was a teaching assistant at Interlochen Arts Camp for three summers. While pursuing her graduate studies, she continued to teach through the Memphis public school system and from her own private studio. In addition to her passion for music, Addie loves to read and spend time with family and friends.
